Abstract.
The article is devoted to the problem of representing the image of a modern woman in English-language glossy magazines. For the purpose of revealing a woman’s portrait the paper considers examples of the most frequently used lexical and syntactic stylistic devices and tools used by the authors of articles to recreate the image of a beautiful woman and the image of a successful woman. Basing on the analysis of “Style Caster”, “Real Simple”, “Vogue”, “Cosmopolitan”, “She Knows” publications, it is es-tablished that the verbal behavior of a modern woman is characterized by the prevalence of stable gender characteristics.
