Abstract.
In modern Dagestan literary criticism the poetry of the classic of the Avar literature Mahmoud from Kakhabroso is perceived in the context of chanting love, the image of a mountain woman, a symbol of beauty and exaltation. At the same time, the poet’s work is so substantial that he is rightly considered to be the apex of the national poetic word of the second half of the ХIХ - the beginning of the ХХ century. Creative receptivity, the ability to feel the word allowed him to study thoroughly the verbal culture of the peoples of the Muslim East, including the Turkic world, to look into the depth of its content, to understand its features. The article attempts to trace the influence of the Eastern (Turkish) reality on the poetry of the classic of the Avar literature, to reveal the role of borrowings (motives, images, characters) in the creation of figurative and symbolic row of his poetic creativity, their impact on the nature of his poetics.
