PECULIARITIES OF COLOUR VOCABULARY IN IRINA MURAVYOVA’S FICTION WORKS

Abstract.
The article analyses the peculiarities of colour term functioning in Irina Muravyova’s fiction works. The analysis has allowed the researcher to determine the meaning of the colouratives “red”, “white”, “blue”, “black” in direct and figurative nomination and to identify the frequency of their usage in the authoress’s works. The findings indicate that colouratives as figurative components not only transfer characters’ emotional state but also represent the peculiarities of natural phenomena and the surrounding world with a view to affect a reader’s feelings.
