BACKGROUND VOCABULARY AND EXTRALINGUISTIC REALITY IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract.
The article is devoted to determining the extralinguistic reality role in describing the features of using background vocabulary in fiction texts, in highlighting figurative realias conveyed in a symbolic form. The author has analysed practical material with the method of linguistic material observing. The conclusions are supported by the results of the analysis, through which the author develops the thesis on the interaction of the linguocultural factors represented in fiction text. It is proved that linguocultural realias knowledge provides for communicants’ mutual understanding and is a basis in the process of discourse interpretation by an addressee.
