Functioning of Logical Figures in the Modern Sermon: The Original and the Translation

Abstract.
The article examines logical figures, the key components of a modern sermon, and describes the basic techniques used to translate them into French. The research objective includes identifying the mechanisms of logical figures functioning in the source text and the target text by the material of the book by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill “The Mystery of Repentance. Lenten Sermons” (the French translation “La Conversion au Royaume de Dieu”). The functions and role of logical figures in sermon texts are revealed. It is shown that logical figures are represented in the Russian and French texts at different language levels.
