Storyline and Compositional Peculiarities of Hakan Günday’s Novelism

Abstract.
The paper considers architectonics of two most famous novels by Hakan Günday “Ziyan” (“The Harm”) (2009) and “Daha” (“More”) (2013). The article analyses the novels’ chronotope, shows how specificity of spatial-temporal arrangement influences formation of the key personages’ images, justifies the thesis that H. Günday’s novelism belongs to the fictionalized prose genre. Scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that H. Günday’s novelism has not been previously investigated in the domestic Turkish studies. The following conclusions are justified: H. Günday is one of the most outstanding Turkish prose writers of the XXI century; acute social problematics of his works correlates with problematic fields of other representatives of the national fictionalized prose (Zülfü Livaneli, A. Ümit); when developing the main personages’ images, the writer focuses on their unstable psychical states often resulting in severe psychic disorders.
