Abstract.
The article considers N. S. Tikhonov’s translation heritage that includes the Russian translations of poems by the Ossetian poet of the second half of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century K. L. Khetagurov. The study is based on a comparative-contrastive analysis. The research objective includes identifying the basic types of the translation transformations used to transfer text linguo-poetic specificity. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that N. S. Tikhonov’s translations of K. L. Khetagurov’s children’s poems have not been previously investigated. The following conclusions are justified: N. S. Tikhonov’s translations are equi-rhythmic and equi-linear; the translator tries to adapt the text to the perception of the Russian reader often ignoring national colour.
