Theme of Art in A. Genatulin’s Works

Abstract. The study aims to determine the role that art played during the Great Patriotic War, for which A. Genatulin’s works “When the War Ends”, “Brigade Soup”, “Dandelions” were considered. The authors wish to demonstrate how the characters of the Bashkir writer’s works perceive art and how music and paintings affect their behaviour in various circumstances; they bring the reader to the idea that true art helps a person to display their best qualities at turning points in history. Scientific novelty of the research is accounted for by growing interest in issues of cross-cultural communication, the fact that this theme remains little-studied in the Bashkir literary criticism: the paper is the first to study the theme of art in A. Genatulin’s works “When the War Ends”, “Brigade Soup”, “Dandelions”. As a result, it was found that art as embodiment of harmony stimulates in the perceiver the striving for a balanced personality through unity with people and the world; creative work forms in the heroes of A. Genatulin’s works the ability to feel, accurately perceive and appreciate beauty in life and art; makes it possible to clarify the aesthetic standpoint of the writer himself.
