Fixed Imperatives of the German Language: Analysing Their Frequency of Use in Speech (by the Material of the DWDS Corpus of the German Language)

Abstract.
The study aims to analyse the German fixed imperatives in the aspect of their frequency of use in speech, basing on the electronic corpus of the German language of Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and the Humanities, the DWDS Corpus. Scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that it is the first to describe communicative phraseological units of the German language belonging to the pragmatic class of imperatives in terms of their frequency of use. As a result of the study, the researcher has presented a hierarchy of fixed imperatives in terms of their frequency in the corpus, determined different frequency of their use in different speech registers, and identified correlation between frequency of using communicative phraseological units of this pragmatic class and whether or not they possess idiomaticity.
