Linguistic Representants of the SAVAGE Concept in the Novel “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding

Abstract.
The paper identifies the representants of the SAVAGE concept in the English-language novel “Lord of the Flies” by W. Golding. The aim of the research is to determine the features of the individual author’s concept SAVAGE in W. Golding’s novel “Lord of the Flies”. Scientific novelty of the research lies in determining the structure of the SAVAGE concept in the novel “Lord of the Flies”. As a result, it has been proved that the SAVAGE concept is represented by lexemes forming the “cruelty”, “savagery” and “degradation” slots. It has been found that nouns make up the majority of representant lexemes, which are represented by verbs, adjectives and adverbs to a lesser extent.
