Abstract.
On October 30, 2024, the Samara State University of Social Sciences and Education hosted an international scientific and practical conference “Traditions and Innovation in the Development of Linguistic and Methodological Thought” in a mixed (online and offline) format, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Department of Russian Language, Speech Culture and Teaching Methods. The target audience of the conference were teachers, researchers, doctoral students, postgraduates, undergraduates, practitioners in the field of Russian studies. The purpose of the conference was to extrapolate the dominant achievements of the Samara Linguistic School of Russian Studies into the modern linguistic community of Russia and friendly countries. The scientific novelty of the research lies in a comprehensive analysis of the development of linguistic and methodological thought of the named scientific school through the organization of scientific dialogue. As a result of the research, it was proved that the scientific dialogue allowed us to determine how trends of tradition and innovation manifested themselves in the sections of linguistics containing the dominant achievements of this scientific school: dialectology, linguistic semantics, the language of fiction, onomastics, as well as in the methodology of teaching the Russian language.
