Intertextual dialogue as a strategy of metacyclization: the "Antique Code" in the novels of Yu. Buyda

Abstract.
The purpose of this study is to identify intertextual connections between two novels by the contemporary prose writer Yuri Buyda. The scientific novelty of the work is due to the introduction of new research material (the text of the novel "The Gardens of the Wyvern"), which has not been reflected in Russian literary criticism, as well as the appeal to the semantic code of Antiquity and the Middle Ages in the work of Yuri Buyda. For the first time, through motifs of two texts were identified, related to the author's understanding of the ancient heritage and its refraction in the culture of the Renaissance and the Middle Ages. The results obtained showed that there are intertextual links between the two novels of the Russian writer, which are used both to unite the three parts of the novel "The Gardens of the Wyvern" into a single whole, and beyond the artistic world of this work, in the autobiographical novel "Thief, Spy, and Assassin." This makes it possible to raise the question of the presence of metacycles in the work of Yuri Buyda, including not only novellas and short stories, but also his major prose works. The tool for creating such metacycles is the presence of self-citations and the reinterpretation in different works of the same winged expressions and cultural concepts, which the characters in the novels discuss, explicitly call extremely important and concept-forming within their worldview.
