Abstract.
The reviewed collective monograph examines the traditional spiritual culture of the Burgenland Croats, who live primarily in western Hungary. It considers the traditional family rituals of the Burgenland Croats, the folk calendar, folk mythological beliefs, and dialectal vocabulary. The graphics, orthography, and vocabulary of the correspondence of a resident of the village of Čunovo (today one of the districts of Bratislava) with relatives and friends are analyzed. The monograph is intended for Slavists of the broadest profile – historians of language, dialectologists, specialists in ethnolinguistics, sociolinguistics, ethnography, and folklore.
