Linguistic and linguopragmatic components of V. Ya. Wulf’s individual style and their role in critical articles about theatre

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the analysis of the linguistic and linguostylistic features of V. Ya. Vulf’s articles dedicated to theater and theater actors. The study emphasizes stylistic means of expressing evaluation, which ensure the accurate representation of the intent and perception of theatrical art phenomena. Examples of lexical stylistic devices, as well as expressively colored vocabulary, are presented. The study aims to identify the linguistic specificity of V. Ya. Vulf’s articles, considering the linguopragmatic component of the linguistic means employed by the theater critic. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that, for the first time, it defines the functional features of metaphors, similes, epithets, and expressively colored vocabulary in V. Ya. Vulf’s publications when describing theatrical reality and expressing the critic’s evaluations and subjective attitude towards theatrical life. As a result of the work, it was established that emotionally colored vocabulary and lexical stylistic devices are characteristic of V. Ya. Vulf’s individual style, and their role in the theater critic’s articles is to present information, lend expressiveness to publications, and represent the author’s perception of the described circumstances, events, and people.
