Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the lexical neologisms of the special "word creation" websites "Gift of the Word", "Sense of the Word", "Neologism of the Year" in terms of functional and pragmatic approach. Taking into consideration a large number of contaminants it can be concluded that word creation at these web sites has a game character and, as a rule, expressive-evaluative stylistic coloring.
