PHYSICALISM AS MAN’S PARADIGM

Gavrishina Tamara Leont'evna
Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics

Abstract. The article presents the historical-philosophical reconstruction of the paradigmatic strategies of physicalism, which ideal was the atomistic understanding of not only the world, but also of the human him(her)self. It is noted that this intellectual tradition appeared in ancient Greece but hasn’t lost its relevance up to the present time. Moreover, the rapid development of modern technologies, which leads to the qualitative improvement of human life, simultaneously threatens with changes in sociality values, as well as the nature and essence of the human him(her)self.
