FUNCTIONAL PECULIARITIES OF APPROXIMATE EVALUATION IN THE MODERN ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article discusses the lexical means of approximate evaluation representation in the modern English language and their use in teaching professional speech communication to students. In the language there is a number of split-level means, by which the sense of "approximateness" is formed. Approximate evaluation is accompanied by the limitation of the qualitative characteristics of the evaluation object and simultaneously by the decrease of statement categoricity.
