ON THE THEORY OF PHASE TRANSITION CRYSTAL-MELT IN LINEAR FLEXIBLE-CATENARY POLYMERS

Abstract. The thermodynamical theory of polymers melting presented in this article allows keeping track of thermal capacity behaviour in the phase transition crystal-melt. The character of the thermal capacity change, in turn, provides necessary information for the classification of the phase transition. In the paper the authors show that in accordance with the general classification of phase transitions the transition crystal-melt in linear flexible-catenary polymers is a first-order one.
