CIRCASSIAN THEATRE: SEARCHING FOR CONCEPTUAL BASIS

Abstract. The article studies the issues of the adaptation of the traditions of the spectacular and public merrymaking culture of the Circassians to the requirements of modern art in the period of the formation of national professional theatre and some ways of their solution are proposed through re-thinking the theories of the leading figures of theatrical art and the application of their methods for solving crisis problems. Assuming that the actor plays the dominant role in Circassian theatre the author examines the problem of the adaptation of the traditional elements of artistic culture through the lenses of the creative work of the theatre leading actors.
