ORIGINATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF SYNTAGMA THEORY IN FOREIGN LINGUISTICS

Abstract. In the article the basic points and principles of syntagmatic theory since the moment of its origination (F. de Saussure) till the present moment are considered. Special attention is given to the concept of syntagma and the features of this theory in the French linguistics where it was developed within the frameworks of functional syntax.
