THE PROBLEM OF EXPRESSIVENESS AS THE LINGUISTIC CATEGORY (ON THE BASIS OF THE PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS OF MILITARY ORIGIN)

Abstract. The review of the basic problems of the theory of expressiveness is given in the article; various approaches and conceptions of expressiveness revealing the vision of other researchers concerning the nature and essence of expressiveness are considered. The author tries to give her own understanding referred to phraseology. Expressiveness is considered as a semantic-functional category which has both language and speech nature. Expressiveness as a system phenomenon represents intensive brightness usually fixed in the connotation macro-component and through the seme of intensity represented in the denotation-signification macro-component. Expressiveness can also result from the functioning of non-expressive units in speech/text. The analysis of the factors of the formation of inherent expressiveness is given and the degree of their participation in its generation is determined in the article.
