ABOUT ENGLISH SPEECH RHYTHM

Abstract. The author characterizes English speech rhythm, its distinctions from Russian speech rhythm, considers rhythmic groups types and rhythm units, mentions the factors of English speech perception as a more distinct one, and analyzes text melodic organization. Rhythm is possible in any communication type and is the main factor, which orders a statement. Rhythm is formed by all prosody components and is a system phenomenon in a language, thus rhythm training is important while mastering foreign speech.
