DICTIONARIES DEVELOPMENT AS CLASSICAL KNOWLEDGE UNIVERSALIZATION TENDENCY REFLECTION

Abstract. The article is devoted to the topical problem of dictionaries development as modern classical knowledge universalization tendency reflection. The author makes a brief historical excursus to lexicography development (dictionaries origin, their role in information accumulation and transfer), presents the basic stages of the Russian lexicology and lexicography history, mentions the most prominent Russian dictionaries and the dictionaries of soviet and modern periods, and pays special attention to educational (school) dictionaries of the Russian language having both theoretical (lexicographical) and empirical (methodological-pedagogical) meaning and testifying lexicographers' increased attention to school.
