MEDIAEVENTS IN NEWS FLOW OF MASS COMMUNICATIONS

Abstract. The author reveals the notion of the phenomenon "mediaevent", its essential characteristics and the connection with the news items of mass communications. The factor of globalization, the intensity of mass communication impact on socium changed the communicative behaviour of the audience that ultimately actualizes the problem of "newsworthiness" in the life of modern society and in mass communications. The problem of life events selection for media news feed is becoming more actual, the question of the "quasi-event" content of mass communication is becoming an issue of urgent concern. Basing on the generalization of the material on the problem under consideration the author suggests the definition of "mediaevent", and emphasizes the most important components of the structuring of the media text about an event.
