SENSE-FORMATIVE POTENTIAL OF CONTRAST IN G. G. N. BYRON’S ROMANTIC POETIC TEXT

Abstract. The author considers contrast technique as a mechanism ensuring the semantic unity, symmetrical basis and harmonic structure of the poetic text of the great English romantic poet G. G. N. Byron, and by the results of the poet’s lyrical work "Stanzas for Music" (1814) analysis shows that the prevailing fundamental implicit individual-authorial opposition internal/external , participating in the creation of Byron’s poem antonymous macro-context, provides the overall actualization of contrast sense within its text space, and plays determinative role in the formation of its structural-semantic and harmonious unity.
