Abstract. The author conducts the comparative-historical analysis of the ancient forms of proverbs and sayings and various verbal formulaе of the Tatar folklore, and undertakes an attempt to reveal their magical, sacral and other figurative meanings, which could be met in the spiritual and everyday life of people at the early stages of society.
