SEMANTIC STRUCTURE OF VERB OF MOTION БАТ= ‘TO FALL DOWN THE RIVER OR TO DESCEND FROM A HIGHER TO A LOWER PLACE’ IN THE TUVINIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract. The author considers the structural-semantic description of the multivalent verb бат= ‘to fall down the river or to descend from a higher to a lower place’, shows that different meanings of the verb are derived from its lexical environment, its combination with other words, tells that compatibility with different words is a condition for the implementation of one or another meaning; and determines the differential characteristic, according to which one lexical-semantic variant is opposed to another.
