FROM IMAGE OF POLITICAL LEADER TO IMAGE OF STATE

Abstract. The author pays special attention to the system of political discourse images, distinguishes between the terms "image of state" and "image of country", basing on the analysis of speech strategies characterizes the image of politician and the image of state, refers to the following strategies that a political leader implements in speeches as the main ones: the strategy of self-presentation, the strategy of opponent discrediting, and also the strategy of discrediting in relation to one’s own candidacy, and as an indirect strategy that allows creating the image of state analyzes the strategy of representation.
