Abstract. The author substantiates the significance of phenomenological approach as a necessary part of the pre-translation analysis of Alexander Vampilov’s works, and considers the possibilities and advantages of phenomenological analysis by the example of the translation of Vampilov’s play "Last Summer in Chulimsk" into French.
