FUNCTIONING OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS-"FALSE FRIENDS" IN ENGLISH-LANGUAGE INTERNET RESOURCES

Abstract. The article reveals the notion of phraseological units-"false friends" by the example of the English and Russian languages. The author gives a brief description of the existing classes of this type of phraseological units. Particular attention is paid to the functioning of interlingual "false friends" in the English-language internet resources, the possible difficulties in understanding are described, and the methods for avoiding mistakes in translation are suggested.
