"WHAT A SHAMELESS MAN YOU ARE!..": ON GENESIS OF NOVEL "THE IDIOT" BY F. M. DOSTOEVSKII

Abstract. The article studies the genetic background for the creation of F. M. Dostoyevskii’s novel "The Idiot", and considers how a biographical context influenced the fable construction of the text, its architecture and figurative structure. Basing on the quantitative statistical analysis of word usage of the universals "shame"/"shamelessness" by the novel material the author presents the data on the unexpected intersections of a characterological plan not previously covered in scientific literature. The interpretation of these data is the aim of this work, and it helps to reveal the mechanism of sense generation of the text.
