PERCEPTUAL INFERENTIALITY AND METHODS OF ITS PRESENTATION IN MODERN ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The inferential evidentiality, based on sensory perception of situation traces by a speaker who describes it, is considered in the article. It is stated that the speaker’s assumptions may be based on evidence, perceived visually, and by means of hearing and sense of touch. The article reveals that modal verbs, modal words, and special evidential modal adverbs are the means of perceptual inferentiality expression in the modern English language.
