LEXICAL-PHRASEOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE SPEECH GENRE "PORTRAIT OF BUSINESSMAN" IN MASS MEDIA DISCOURSE

Abstract. The author analyzes the lexical means used for the implementation of influence function in the texts of the speech genre "Portrait of a businessman", considers the most typical uses of lexical-semantic, morphological-phonetic transformations, popular expressions transformations, as well as the interaction of phraseological unit with context that creates the image of a businessman in mass media discourse; and shows that stylistic means (allusions, metaphors, comparisons) are used primarily to emphasize the personal, speech characteristics, appearance traits of the portrayed.
