DEVELOPMENT OF BILINGUALISM IN REPUBLICS OF TUVA AND KHAKASSIA

Abstract. The author conducts the comparative analysis of bilingualism development with Tuvan and Khakass components, which is based on the dynamics indicators of the ethnic-demographic and communicative capacities of two minority languages, having the legal status of state languages within the corresponding republics of South Siberia, as well as sociolinguistic surveys pilot data, and reveals the differences in the models of asymmetric bilingualism in relation to positions conservation of the Tuvan and Khakassian languages ??in the context of modern language legislation and regional language policy.
