VARIABILITY OF INTONATIONAL MEANS INVOLVED IN SPEAKERS TERRITORIAL BELONGING IDENTIFICATION

Abstract. The author studies the intonational features of actors speech in two variants of the English language, British and American, in authentic performance in the context of a feature film, considers the melodic and temporal components of intonation, the nomenclature of tones and scales involved in speakers territorial belonging identification, and of all the components of intonation pays special attention to the melodic component, and in the melodic component to the system of terminal tones owing to their communicative significance.
