TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES IN RUSSIA IN THE XVIII TH-XIX TH CENTURIES

Abstract. The author discusses the problem of teaching foreign languages ??in Russia in the XVIII th-XIX th centuries, shows the role which foreign languages played ??in the educational process as a whole, and the teaching methods that were used in educational process. For this article the publications of the Russian science classics such as F. I. Buslaev and L. V. Shcherba, as well as modern researches were used.
