Abstract. The author discusses the topical national education problem of improving the cognitive mobility of higher education establishment students through the study of the forms of the Russian literary language existence, its functional styles, public speaking skills foundations and mastering the techniques of discussion and negotiation in the classes on the discipline "the Russian language and culture of speech".
