Abstract. The nature, direction and stylistic features of A. S. Pushkin’s autobiographical prose are analyzed. The "memoir nature" of poet’s auto-notes is disputed, and it is put forward the notion of a common historical-personal conception of poet’s autobiographical works, covering all "confessional fragments" and expressed by particular artistic means. Particular attention is paid to the figurative innovation of Pushkin’s "story about oneself".
