METAPHORICAL NATURE OF CONCEPT "SOLITUDE" IN POETIC PICTURE OF THE WORLD OF HAN DONG

Abstract. The article considers the basic and individual author’s metaphors that reveal the concept "solitude" in the poetic creative works of Han Dong, one of the leading figures of modern China. The analysis is conducted at the junction of linguo-culturology and literary criticism, the author presents her own translation of Han Dong’s poems. The notions (darkness, dumbness, silence, longing for a friend, old age) are singled out, they form this concept, as well as poetical devices (metaphor, simile, epithet) and explicate it. The author comes to the conclusion that not only the traditional understanding of "solitude", but also the desire for the individualization of his work influenced the creative ideas of the poet.
