HISTORY OF "BOURGEOIS TRAGEDY" GENRE DEVELOPMENT IN ENGLAND IN THE XVIII TH CENTURY

Abstract. The article is devoted to determining the features of "bourgeois tragedy" genre, its place and role in the history of English literature. In order to reveal the genre model the author undertakes the attempt to present the typological classification and give the scientific interpretation. The basis for the study of this question is the works of playwrights of the XVIII th century. Literary criticism studies the materials, which for the most part are little known in domestic science, and cover their creative works, and the reception of aesthetic views.
