Abstract. In the article Dao miniatures in I. A. Fainfeld’s creative work are analyzed. The author focuses her attention on the fact that the poet refers to tradition basic postulates, namely about the overcoming of the person’s identification with ego and union with Dao – the Highest Principle, which is the source of existence. To the author’s mind this union in a definite degree can be shown through paradox that expresses metaphysical realization and serves as a concentration object for such realization.
