STUDY HISTORY AND RESEARCH PERSPECTIVES OF MODERN SURNAMES

Abstract. In the article the main directions of the Ukrainian surnames researching are analyzed; the views of scientists studying onomastics on the history of surnames formation and specificity are considered. Scientists’ achievements in the Ukrainian surnames researching are analyzed. The theoretical analysis of works on anthroponymy allowed defining a number of linguistic problems and scientists’ different approaches to surnames researching.
