Abstract. The article compares the special features of articulation-acoustic bases of the two local dialects of the Altai-Kizhi dialect - ongudaysky and ust-kansky. On the instrumental data received by the method of magnetic resonance imaging the author analyzes the articulatory settings of guttural consonants. The analysis testifies that ust-kansky articulations are relatively more strained and pulled back in comparison to ongudaysky. According to the authors, the reasons for such differences take its origin in the history of forming the Altai-Sayan ethnical groups and their languages.
