CONFLICT AND COMPROMISE IN NOVEL "TWO SISTERS AND KANDINSKII" BY V. S. MAKANIN

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the antinomy relations in the novel "Two Sisters and Kandinskii" by V. S. Makanin. The study of plot-compositional structure and the image system of the work helps to conclude that the conflict of love and the social conflict associated with the phenomenon of whistleblowing are submitted to the image of the existential situation of choice: to compromise with one’s conscience or to preserve one’s dignity.
