IMAGINATIVE WORLD OF NONEXISTENCE IN TRAVELOGUE ABOUT SOVIET RUSSIA "EIMI" BY E. E. CUMMINGS

Pokazan'eva Inna Vladimirovna
Saint Petersburg State University

Abstract. The article considers the imaginative analysis of novelized travelogue "EIMI" by E. E. Cummings in the context of the social-political and cultural relations between Soviet Russia and the USA in the first half of the ХХ century. Particular attention is paid to the identification and analysis of the images of death and nonexistence as the lack of features that dominate in the travelogue due to the author’s anti-Soviet sentiments. The topicality of the study is determined by the general neglecting of "EIMI" by E. E. Cummings in the Russian and international literary criticism.
