CRYPTOTYPES FUNCTIONING IN THEORY OF LANGUAGE

Orekhova Ol'ga Mikhailovna
Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management

Abstract. The article shows the functioning of cryptotypes, i.e. hidden, subtle meanings that are not contained in concrete words, but revealed in the linguistic analysis. The topicality of the theme presented in the article is determined by the fact that the author considers two types of cryptotypes: the cryptotype of B. Whorf and the cryptotype of M. Swadesh in the context of the theory of "hidden" categories. In the article, made ??within the framework of language semiotic researches, the cryptotype of B. Whorf is considered as an indexical cryptotype of spatiotemporal complementarity; the cryptotype of M. Swadesh – as an iconic cryptotype of binary type "close – far", "low – high", "internal – external".
Key words and phrases: криптотип, криптофонема, пространственно-временная сопряженность, бинарные оппозиции, семиотика, cryptotype, cryptophoneme, spatiotemporal complementarity, binary oppositions, semiotics
