VISUAL BEHAVIOR CODES AND MEANINGS ASSOCIATED WITH THEM: PROBLEM SETTING

Abstract. The necessity of introduction into the scientific circulation of the terminological unit " visual behavior codes" to indicate all types of visually seen non-verbal signs – gesture, thing as well as semiotically significant visually seen results of person’s actions over his face or body is substantiated in this article. Introduced by the author psychosemiotical approach to the communicative units of the above-mentioned group, i.e. differentiation of the visual behavior codes and their correlates in the mind – images of visual behaviour – enables to identify the features defining the use of visual codes representations with a view to influence the minds of mass media texts readers.
