LINGUISTIC MEANS OF IMPLEMENTING IRONY IN POLITICAL MEDIA-DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article is dedicated to the investigation of irony as a complex discursive phenomenon manifesting itself in political media-discourse and realizing its manipulative potential at the expense of possibility for implicit representation of author’s valuation. Irony comes out not only as a stylistic figure but also as a multi-aspect and multidimensional phenomenon which represents itself in discourse by using linguistic means of lexical and syntactical levels, in their integrity creating integrated ironical context.
