Yusupova Nurfiya Marsovna
Kazan (Volga region) Federal University

Abstract. The article examines the transformation of mythological images and subjects in lyrical epics of the beginning of the XX century from the viewpoint of their functions, role and artistic meaning. Scientific originality is singled out by a different approach to the investigation of mythological subjects and images in the structure of modernistic poems: during the research the author accentuates on their functioning in the role of a symbol as a structure-forming component. Besides, the paper argues that such model became a stimulus for developing the phenomenon of "anti-genre", which is an old form in a new function. Summing up the results, the author distinguishes two types of anti-genre in the Tatar poetry of this period.
