THE TERMINOLOGY OF BLOOD RELATIONS IN THE ANGLO-SAXON SOCIETY AND IN THE OLD ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article reveals the notions content of the terms of consanguinity in the Anglo-Saxon society and in the Old English language through the etymological analysis of these terms which is not possible without the consideration of the whole system of blood relations terminology. As a result of this analysis and giving the examples from dictionary entries and the texts of Old English literature the author identifies the peculiarities of the terminology under study.
